Your account's security settings are also where sign-in methods live — here's how to manage both, depending on how you originally signed up.
Changing Your Password
If you registered with an email address and password, you can update it any time:
- Go to My Account → Security.
- Find the password section and enter your current password, followed by your new one.
- Your new password needs to be at least 8 characters, include one uppercase letter, and one special character.
- Save your changes.
If you'd rather reset a forgotten password from the login screen instead, see How Do I Reset a Forgotten Password?.
Connecting Google to an Existing Account
If you originally signed up with email and password, you can also connect a Google account so you have the option to sign in either way:
- Go to My Account → Security.
- Find the Google row and click Connect.
- Choose the Google account you'd like to link and confirm.
- From then on, you can sign in with either your email and password or that Google account.
Disconnecting Google
If you have both a password and a connected Google account, you can disconnect Google at any time from the same Security screen, leaving your email and password as your sign-in method.
If You Originally Signed Up with Google
Accounts created directly through Continue with Google use Google as their sign-in method going forward — sign in the same way you registered. See How Do I Reset a Forgotten Password? for more on how this affects password recovery specifically.
Frequently Asked Questions
I forgot my password — where do I change it?
If you remember your current password, update it directly from My Account → Security. If you don't, use Forgot password? on the Login page instead — see the full reset guide.
Can I use both Google and a password to sign in?
Yes — if you connect Google to an account that already has a password, either method works going forward.
Is there a way to add a password to an account I created with Google?
Not at this time. Accounts created directly through Google sign in with Google going forward.
What happens if I disconnect Google from my account?
You'll sign in using your email and password only, going forward — nothing else about your account, listings, or history changes.
Yes — as a security measure, updating your password ends existing sessions elsewhere, so you'll need to log back in with the new password anywhere you were previously signed in.
